This WACKY Wednesday prepares participants for the 2.5 weeks ahead where there will be no DearMYRTLE webinars while she attend Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and SLIG Academy for Professionals. During Mondays with Myrt this week, Myrt challenged folks to accomplishing one (1) genealogical organization task. Perhaps something you’ve wanted to do like learn to use Evernote, or finally get those old letters scanned. Maybe it’s cleaning out your filing cabinet, or digitizing and transcribing the documents collected from your last research trip. Maybe you’ve been putting off starting to blog anecdotes about your ancestors so heretofore unknown cousins can learn about you and your research. Maybe you have decided to use Dropbox to automatically keep a copy of your work “in the cloud.”
Whatever your genea_goal, you’ve got an uninterrupted 2.5 weeks to accomplish the task. Just think how good you’ll feel with 1 good project under your belt. That, my dear friends, is a great way to start out the new year!

19:11:46 From Betty-Lu Burton : I have a deed that has the deceased father’s name, the woman’s married and maiden name and her husband’s name and the same for her sister and the widow (second wife) of the deceased father. All as the seller of the land plus the buyer. The document also is the main source for all the above relationships so How would that be filed?
19:27:15 From Molly McKinley : I have files by state and county for deeds, births, deaths etc. because I am doing both sides of my family and have many of the same name on both sides. By putting them by state and county I know which side of the family it is.
