Can you ever RETIRE from Genealogy?

So Ol’ Myrt here thought she was tying things up neatly in a bow. Back in 2022, I said “Just call me DearMYRTLE, your RETIRED friend in genealogy.” I was happy digitizing, organizing, and sharing my years of genealogical discoveries.

Geoffrey D Rasmussen made mini-videos by slicing and dicing last Friday’s mega webinar in honor of 2000 webinar presentations. Here’s Ol’ Myrt’s segment.

So it comes as no surprise that one can never REALLY retire from genealogy. Its just that our focus may change. Ol’ Myrt here is finally catching up with her own research – keeping it in the latest version of genealogy management software. I’m also identifying the story behind family heirlooms with an attached mini-journal, like this old silver spoon, and placing them in the a drawer of my antique steamer trunk. Myrt is placing a mini-journal telling the story of the silver spoon she inherited.

That was then, this is now.

In the spring of 2024, I recognized I miss learning and growing from conversations with panelists and attendees. So I gave in and scheduled more Mondays with Myrt webinars, this time on an abbreviated schedule to permit travel, and attending baking and institute courses.

Thanks to a cadre of experienced panelists, willing to fill in for Cousin Russ, we are off to a great start. Here’s the link to our broadcast schedule. https://dearmyrtle.com/calendar/

And this is where you may view the new Mondays with Myrt livesteams and catch the reruns.
I’m also adding in some of our golden oldies from time to time. https://www.youtube.com/@DearMYRTLEArchive

What I’ve discovered is NO, you can NEVER really retire from genealogy . It’s just too much fun.

Just call me…
DearMYRTLE, your (not so) retired friend in genealogy!
