Why Not Keep Up?

Someone posted about a recurring software issue in a Facebook Group for the genealogy management program. Great screen shots and everything. After detailing the scenario, their closing statement was “Yes, this is version 7 and I know it’s not supported.” The program had a complete makeover and is on version 9+. 

It feels like a sense of entitlement to me. 

We must keep up with the times.

There’s a reason software has major upgrades over the years. 

Why should I expect people to freely educate me when I haven’t done the basic work of keeping up?
